集裝箱(container)
按所裝貨物種類(lèi)分，有雜貨集裝箱、散貨集裝箱、液體貨集裝箱、冷藏箱集裝箱等;按制造材料分，有木集裝箱、鋼集裝箱、鋁合金集裝箱、玻璃鋼集裝箱、不銹鋼集裝箱等;按結構分，有折疊式集裝箱、固定式集裝箱等，在固定式集裝箱中還可分密閉集裝箱、開(kāi)頂集裝箱、板架集裝箱等;按總重分，有30噸集裝箱、20噸集裝箱、10噸集裝箱、5噸集裝箱、2.5噸集裝箱等。集裝箱計算單位 (twenty-feet equivalent units 簡(jiǎn)稱(chēng)：teu)
集裝箱租賃 (container leasing)
所有人將空箱租給使用人的一項業(yè)務(wù)。集裝箱所有人為出租的一方集裝箱，與使用人，一般是船公司或貨主，為承租的一方，雙方簽訂租賃合同。由出租人提供合格的集裝箱交由承租人在約定范圍內使用。集裝箱的租賃，國際上有多種不同的方式，總括起來(lái)有：程租、期租、活期租用和航區內阻賃等。
集裝箱裝卸區(container terminal)
集裝箱運輸中，箱或貨裝卸交換保管的具體經(jīng)辦部門(mén)。它授承運人或其代理人的委托，進(jìn)行下列各項業(yè)務(wù)：
(1)對整箱貨運的交換、保管。
(2)設有集裝箱貨運站者，辦理拼箱貨的交接。
(3)安排集裝箱船的靠泊，裝卸集裝箱，每航次編制配載圖。
(4)辦理有關(guān)貨運單證的編簽。
(5)編制并簽驗集裝箱運用運載工具的出入及流轉的有關(guān)單證。
(6)辦理集裝箱及運載工具、裝卸工具的情況檢查、維修，以及空箱的清掃、熏蒸等工作。
(7)空箱的收發(fā)、存貯和保管。
(8)安排空箱和重箱在堆場(chǎng)的堆碼，及編制場(chǎng)地分配計劃。
(9)其他有關(guān)業(yè)務(wù)工作。集裝箱裝卸區一般由專(zhuān)用碼頭、前沿、堆場(chǎng)、貨運站、指揮塔、修理部門(mén)、大門(mén)和辦公室組成。有時(shí)堆場(chǎng)或貨運站等可延伸到市區內部事5~15公里的中轉站。
集裝箱前方堆場(chǎng)(marshalling yard)
在集裝箱碼頭前方，為加速船舶裝卸作業(yè)，暫時(shí)堆放集裝箱的場(chǎng)地。其作用是：當集裝箱船到港前，有計劃有次序地按積載要求將出口集裝箱整齊地集中堆放，卸船時(shí)將進(jìn)口集裝箱暫時(shí)堆放在碼頭前方，以加速船舶裝卸作業(yè)。
